Core Beliefs & Philosophy
Personal Life
I am a firm believer that change comes from the roots, and as a professional in the nonprofit sector, I never want to enact undesired change on a community. Organizations have too often taken advantage of underserved populations to further a belief that has nothing to do with the community it impacts. It is my responsibility as an individual with change-making power to prevent this harm from continuing.
I often think about the nonprofit industrial complex. The nonprofit industrial complex is the system of existing nonprofits that fundraise for initiatives but do not give it their all when trying to achieve these goals. Instead, the organization perpetuates the very phenomenon or system they are trying to counter in order to continue making money. Budding nonprofit professionals like myself must be cognizant when making decisions for organizations to ensure that we do not continue the same cycles of harm that we are trying to prevent.
Above all else, however, I believe in doing what is right for the sheer sake of it being the right thing to do. To support my fellow person on their journey through life is my calling, and I cannot wait to delve into this passion as I begin my full-time career!

I was born and raised in Lindenhurst, Ill., a small town approximately an hour north of Chicago. My family consists of my mother, father, younger brother, and adorable cat. My family means the world to me, and one of my greatest desires in life is to make them proud. As a first-generation student, I am acutely aware of pressure to achieve what no one else in my family has done before. My father is an automotive mechanic, which he earned an associate’s degree for, and my mother is an administrative assistant. My brother is working full-time and plans to attend trade school in the fall of 2024. As of now, I am the only one that will have a four-year degree, and that is a major point of pride for me. I have gone where no one else in my family has gone before.
I believe in always moving forward. Moving forward through life, moving forward through my struggles, moving forward by constantly learning.
Outside of my various roles, I can be found in local art museums, bookstores, or restaurants with my friends. I love to learn and explore all facets of what life has to offer.
